Sustainably grown oysters from the New England sea coast

The farm

We grow our oysters in Great Bay, New Hampshire. This estuary provides for vibrant recreation, abundant wildlife, and high-quality blue economy that includes a committed and successful aquaculture industry.

This estuary imprints its high-quality brackish water on our oysters by creating a fresh and salty start with a crisp finish. We hope our product is enjoyed wherever you and yours may gather.

The Buckeye Oyster Company deeply values the environmental wealth of the coast in the great American Northeast. It is for this reason we practice sustainable aquaculture to ensure the longevity of our environment and industry. We are proud to be invested in the communities of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and beyond.

The farmer

Collin Buckner is a born and raised Cincinnati, Ohioan. After graduating from Miami University he moved to Cape Cod, MA in 2018 to participate in a national year of service with the AmeriCorps Cape Cod program. While there, Collin walked into the world of aquaculture and did most of his on-the-job education with the Town of Falmouth Shellfish Department.

From the moment he arrived in New England he has greatly appreciated the deep tie between the environment and everyday New England life. With this farm he hopes to contribute his small part to that relationship.  In recent years Collin has lived between the Gulf Coast and the Northeast serving in various natural resource and disaster response roles.

The farm's name is a nod to Collin’s old Ohio home and the official state nut - the Buckeye.
